Red Stags weighing up to 200kg can be found in New Zealand's southern alpine region. As a trophy they are a highly sort after animal and on the bucket list of many hunters as a result. The roar (March - April) sees stags become less cautious in their search for a mate making this is a popular time to hunt. However good hunting can be had all year round with no seasonal restrictions note however some areas in New Zealand are closed from time to time for various reasons so its best to consult with us when planning your trip.
